Appliance Removal

Appliance Removal & Recycling

Dead fridge in the garage? Old washer and dryer taking up the mudroom? We haul away appliances of every kind, handle the refrigerant on units that need it, and send the metal to scrap recycling instead of the landfill. We disconnect and carry out, so you don't touch a thing.

Appliances are their own headache

Appliances are their own headache

Refrigerators and freezers contain refrigerant that has to be handled properly, and most transfer stations charge separately to take them. Washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, and water heaters are heavy and awkward. We deal with all of it. We unhook it, carry it out, and dispose of it the right way.

Questions

Appliance Removal: common questions

Who will pick up used appliances for free?

Scrap collectors will sometimes grab a working appliance left at the curb for the metal value, but it's hit or miss and they won't come inside or handle Freon. For a guaranteed same-week pickup that includes disconnecting, carrying out, and proper refrigerant handling, that's our service for an up-front fee.

Do you handle the refrigerant in fridges and freezers?

Yes. Refrigerant-bearing units are routed through the proper disposal stream rather than just dumped, which is both the law and the right thing to do.

Can you get an appliance out of my basement?

Absolutely. Basement and upstairs appliance removals are routine for us. We bring the dollies, straps, and the second set of hands.

How much does Home Depot or Lowe's charge to remove an old appliance?

The big retailers usually only haul your old unit away when you're buying a new one and they're delivering it, and they typically won't go down to the basement for it. We do standalone removals any day, new purchase or not, from wherever the appliance sits including the basement. Freon and refrigerant are handled the right way. Call (207) 945-8318 or email info@bangorjunkhauling.com for a free quote.

Do you take appliances that don't work?

Yes, dead or working, it makes no difference to us. A washer that quit, a fridge that stopped cooling, a stove nobody wants, we'll haul it out. We recycle the metal and route the refrigerant-bearing units the proper way so they don't end up in a landfill. Priced up front by load size, with the dump and recycling fees already included.
